Couples

When our relationships are working, they can be the source of our greatest joy. When they are not, they can also be the source of our deepest pain.

The purpose of relationships is to heal childhood trauma. Yes, that’s right, everything the media has told you about Prince Charming and the fairytale is not necessarily reality.

We attract partners that will push our buttons, stomp on our wounds. Sounds great, eh? Well, within a securely bonded relationship, this atmosphere actually allows us to heal, realizing that the things we made up about ourselves as children are not in fact true.

My work with couples centres on establishing this strong bond of security and self-esteem, because the rest of the work will come easier once that occurs.

I often see my role with couples as a translator, to assist each of you to see how your behaviours are really a result of not feeling loved or safe.
